Originally from North York, Dr. Ian Braverman earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Western Ontario, before going on to complete a one-year residency in Special Care Dentistry at the University of Toronto. His residency focused on the treatment of physically and mentally challenged children and adults, as well as the elderly. After the residency, he served as Attending Staff (Dental) at the Toronto Rehabilitation Institute. Dr. Braverman has been in practice since 1997 and has already received numerous awards, including the Magnusson Award (1999), Dr. Donald Fraser Award (1998), Academy of General Dentistry Award (1997), and the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry’s Educational Foundation Award (1996). Dr. Braverman has published papers in such esteemed journals as the International Association of Pediatric Dentistry Journal, the Journal of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, and the Journal of Dental Research, as well as presenting research papers at the International Association of Dental Research Convention in Orlando and the American Academy of Pediatric Denistry’s Convention in Chicago. A lifelong learner, Dr. Braverman has taken numerous continuing education courses on topics such as orthodontics, cosmetic restorative dentistry, implants, endodontics, pediatric surgery, and anesthesia. He has also completed a two-year post-graduate program in orthodontics. Dr. Braverman is an active member of several professional associations, including the Ontario Dental Association, Canadian Dental Association, Academy of General Dentistry, George Hare Endodontic Study Club, and Alpha Omega Dental Fraternity. When he’s not busy with his professional pursuits, Dr Braverman loves to keep active, especially with biking, canoeing, racquetball, tennis, and jogging.
