About Dr. Heit Dr. Tammarie Heit is born and raised in Edmonton and was a nurse for 10 years before her career as a dentist. She has now been treating patients of all ages as a general dentist for 23 years, and is the founder of Scotia Square Dentistry which has existed for 16 years in the heart of Edmonton. Dr. Heit loves being a general dentist and has a special passion for the diagnosis and treatment of complex dental cases of craniofacilha pain, TMJ disorders and Obstructive Sleep Apnea. She works with a team of specialists in both dentistry and medicine to help her patients with a collaborative, multidisciplinary and natural solution to this issues to try to optimize their situation. She truly is a nurse-dentist. She was longtime past president of the Multidisciplinary Association for the Study of Cranio-Cervical Pain in Edmonton, member of the Canadian and Alberta Dental Associations, has a mastership at the International College of Craniomandibular Orthopedics and is on the Clinical Advisory Board and Clinical Advisor for VIVOS Therapeutics. She is passionate and active with medicine in advancing research and publication to help improve dentistry protocols and practices to improve treatment outcomes for patients. Dr. Heit loves working and teaching with her colleagues and believes that all dentists and medical doctors are special people that love to help their patients. Dr. Heit is married with two teenage children with almost all of her extended family here in Edmonton. She loves sports and is the team dentist for the Edmonton Eskimos. In her spare time, she is active with her family and friends and loves music and theatre.
